Wow, last time I've been there was 2002, it was a smaller casino then and it was dry. Now it's a fairly large casino with 5 hotels, 72 holes, 20 restaurants (or places to eat)

We planned on going to Turning Stone for Wednesday night and then to a hotel in downtown Saratoga we love. We were going to lounge in their rooftop bar and bet the races watching them on large TV's. We even signed up for NYRA accounts on our phones to bet remotely. Well Thursday turned out to be an awful day, pouring rain, we knew Saratoga would suck with tons of scratches. I called our hotel in Saratoga. , asked them to give me credit and I'll come back another day because we didn't want to waste a day there considering the weather. Without hesitation, she just canceled my reservation and said "see you next time", so we booked another night at Turning Stone.

The only Covid rules were you had to wear a face mask and you had to sanitize your hands whenever you walked up to a table. There was no cocktail service either, you had to go to a bar and buy drinks along with something to eat. Once you ordered food, you can order as many drinks as you want. So we would have two drinks at the bar and take one to go.

The casino vibe was great. Large crowd, active tables. No spacing limitations, 6 people or more people could squeeze into both sides of a craps table. No spacing at slot machines either. We enjoyed the casino experience

The sports-book by Caesars is modern, open, with plenty of TV's. Looks like a fun place to hang, but we were there during all the protest cancellations and we didn't bother looking for sports action. You can NOT bet on horses there

We stayed at the Lodge Hotel, large and comfortable Suite with easy access to the casino. Great room

Saw plenty of golfing parties, although Thursday was a rain-out.

The only thing I wasn't impressed with were the restaurants. Adequate, not bad, won't keep me away, but not gourmet quality. To be fair, we didn't eat at their highest rated restaurant, which is their steakhouse. I didn't know this until this morning.

Anyhow, anyone looking for a casino escape and / or golf, hiking, sightseeing, I think Turning Stone is a great option. Especially nowadays

I'll be back

I was there a few weeks ago too. Before that, I was last there 15 years ago. I remember the first day I was there back in the 90's when it first opened.

Cool sportsbook

It's not the same :)

The last time I was there was the day between the S16 & Elite 8 game in 2002, when Caron Butler almost took a bunch of underclassmen to the FF. Scaring the shit out of the Twerps, who were eventual national champions and who only played one competitive game the entire tournament, UConn. We were down by 3 with like 20 seconds left when Steve Blake made his first shot of the game with the shot clock expiring, the dagger.

Also found a pretty cool joint named "Lookers" on that weekend

What town is that in?

Do they have screens for horse wagering?

Maybe I'll substitute that for my annual Labor Day Weekend Saratoga trip.

Oneida? Or close to Oneida anyhow

Didn't notice horses on their TV's. I'd call first. I asked if they take wagers on horses and they said no. You'd have to use your phone

I live 10 miles from there. Been there 1000x’s....Vip there for years. The lodge, ive gotten the suite with hot tub on the terrace overlooking the golf course literally booked every weekend for months. Steakhouse is good,
nothing like vegas. Peach blossom chinese is amazing. Caesars sportsbook is a fucking joke. Bet 2500 or more, they have to call and get it approved. I said wtf!

been there since first month it opened 28 years ago. If i drive fast, 12 minutes! Literally
can write a book about the place, the hosts, management, etc.

Nothing like vegas but for an indian joint, they are the only game in town and did well for themselves......luckily for them, del lago 1 hour to the west and rivers, an hour to the east remains closed. Another benefit of being an indian reservation......

When we left, we went for breakfast at the Pancake House near Oneida Lake, It was amazing, the best meal we had on our 48 hour excursion

Thanks for the update Willie. We are currently in South Haven, MI. Haven’t went to a casino but beaches packed with huge waves! Haha

Hit a few bars, very little mask wearing and people seem to be tired of all the BS!

Smoking is allowed. That leaves a bad taste for me. I got Rivers 25 minutes away. Now if Cuomo gets off his ass and lets them open.

We went to the Rivers last year on our Saratoga trip, liked them too

I don't think there's smoking at Turning Stone now because of COVID mask regulations
